  1. lamborghinni countach with a twin turbo big block chevy
  2. Are you getting the check engine light at all?? I have seen a throttle position sensor cause this too.
  3. I am not saying that they should be littering. But where are they suppost to put it? The city knows about this, it happens every year. But they choose to NOT contract a waste management group to bring in dumpsters and recepticals to have people properly dispose of their trash. It's not the people, if that were the case they NTR would look the same way and it doesn't. So that leaves two possible reasons it turns into a shithole. One is that there are no means of disposing of the litter so it ends up on the ground. Second is that it's not the car guys doing it, it's the locals that are going up to Brice Rd area and trashing it. That of course means that the local Columbus people ARE the ones that are doing it to begin with.
  4. Fucking Allisons.... Those are 'the shit' for the tractor pullers. Problem is that they are from WWII and there are no parts around for them any more. They displace something like 1750 cubes, but they ain't all that for power any more. I will say this is the first of them I have seen with a turbo setup though. If any of you follow tractor pulls, you can always spot these a mile away, and can always expect the pulling tractor to be a piece of shit they are sitting on. Yea I know tractor pulls are a bit hill billy, but where else are you gonna find 5 Keith Black Hemi's bolted to one vehicle? Or better yet 3 or 4 J-53 turbines on a single platform?
  5. At least the last guy selling hot shit had good stuff for sale.
  6. The one I miss is Auther Treatures. I know there is one there in Reynoldsburg, but the food in there sucks now. There was one in Grandview, that changed names and is a private that sells the original Auther Treatures food, but I can't remember what it was called. The other place I miss is that drive in (can't remember the name) that was in front of the Kroger in Reynoldsburg where the Buger King now sits. Another place that is just the bomb is Sonic. Nelsonville is a long drive for a burger.
  7. Personally, I don't have an issue with what she did. Her comments about WHY is one hell of a gamble. Her comments were she wanted to be with a team that gave her a 'better chance at winning'. Rahal will replace her, and if that driver wins races, and she don't with her new team then she looks stupid and concieted. I do'nt doubt she has some driving ability, but her ability as a driver has very little to do with the level of attention she gets.
  8. As far as actual numbers right now, less than 8 per gallon. Mind you the fan cluth is locked up, so I am running a 5 blade fan at full speed all the time. And it's a dually crew cab, so even as big as your car is Andrew, it's alot smaller than my 24 feet, 7400 lb truck. Now I see your point about the air density, but will it not also make more power with denser air? My thinking is that more power means lighter throttle, equalling out to less fuel. Banks sells an exhaust and header kit for this motor claiming better fuel economy through better air flow. Again more air is also more fuel, but better flow equals better over all efficency, at least that's what I am thinking. But the megasquirt idea does have merit as well, I could tune it for being unloaded, and lean it out a bit, then when it's needed I could retune it. I don't know alot about a megasquirt. Can it be as simple as a switch? Or would I need to push up a new tune to switch it. I am planning on having a laptop on board anyhow, so it wouldn't be a big deal either way. (Nice thing about having that big a vehicle). Hell, I am planning on having a couple camera's on the outside, maybe I need to look at a PCMCIA video input card as well, the camera's are 12 volt, and I have that more than covered anyway (140 Amp alt and 3 batteries). Either way, let me know if I am way off track with the air density thing. I suppose I could just do it, but I am already in process of replacing the fan clutch so that will give me a large change in fuel economy before I even get to the TBI heater.
  9. Need some opinions. I have a 1 ton Chevy with a 454 (7.4L) TBI in it. the TBI is heated with the water circuit that feeds the heater core. I am considering bypassing the water flow to the TBI. The only thing I can figure it's for is quick heatup's in the winter, but I could be wrong on that. I am hoping that it will increase the fuel economy some as the thing drinks fuel like there's no tomorrow. I have already found the fan clutch was locked up causing it to drink fuel, but I want to do what I can with it. This EFI shit is all new to me, I know heating a carb is pointless except for emmisions, and I don't care about that.
  10. My dipshit son got a ticket for 76 in a 55 (in a Geo Tracker) I did tell the judge I didn't doubt that he was doing something, but not 76. At any rate, he got his license pulled for 21 days and a 35 dollar fine. Now I got something for his ass, the Geo is getting a MSD6AL put on it with a limiter at 3500 RPM, which is 58 MPH in fifth, no more speeding tickets, hot rodding the tracker or any of that shit.
  11. Not even in the 1/8. Not gonna happen. Ask him what he traps. For a non- drag car (no wide slicks, 4 link, 1800 lb car) that couldn't do a .75 60 foot, he would need to be doing damn near 300 mph through the traps to turn a 5 sec 1/4.
  12. Yall just scare the shit out of me. Bitching about SAFETY RULES?!?!?!? Just how many of you have at least witnessed a nitrous backfire if not had first hand experience with it. Yes, it's expensive to buy the shit, and it need replaced every 5 years to remain certified, it's just part of going fast, you are gonna pay if you want to play. And remember that it's still cheaper to buy the safety gear and the spray than it is to build a N/A motor that will go the same speed.
  13. Hey Jack, you might just know where Bear Run Cemetary is off 13 then. I have only been there once. I am thinking that it's just west of New Lex but I could be wrong.
  14. I was screwing around on Google and found these http://www.netpluscom.com/~kkaufman/MariahStory/mariah_story.htm http://www.netpluscom.com/~pchs/mariah.htm This was my great aunt, her Father was my mothers great great great grandfather give or take a generation, John Jacob Storts. His son Daniel fought in the Civil War, which was my grandfathers grandfather. It's sort of wierd looking that far back, and oddly enough, the Harris family, which was grandmas people, or her father anyway, was a full blood Indian, and great grandma was half, but I can't remember what nation off the top of my head. I can't find anything on the Foor's back that far, I don't know when they came over from Germany, but it was after the Civil War as far as I can tell. Just thought this was neat.
  15. I think the thing not mentioned here is that they are doing this off .08 per gallon profit. The last time I looked, the sticker on the pump said price included 48.9 cents tax per gallon, for the state and federal government. No one is asking the government for tax relief at the pumps. Something else that is not mentioned, due to the tree huggers, we can't drill for oil in the US. This is not just in the Alaskan game preserve, this is anywhere. There are little bullshit wells going in on peoples private properity, but no major drilling operations are going on in new area's. There is oil in the US, some say more than what is in the middle east, but we can't get to it because of this. What's more, the oils is only part of the problem, the refineries are at capacity, and it's a bitch to get the tree huggers to back off to build one of those either. This is one of the few places that I lean far left, off the edge of left. I feel the government should tell people where something is going and if they don't like it they can fucking move. No one wants a oil refinery next door, but they have to go some fucking place. Anyone that questions this should take a look at Califorina and their power problems. They dont' allow power plants to be built of any reasonable capacity, so they have rolling blackouts. Finally, it's really fucking funny that the people that will bitch about gas prices, something that requires thousands of people to drill for, pump out of the ground, the transport and refine into gas and motor oil. Then pump through pipelines that need constant monitoring and maintaining to bring to your local gas station, but that same twit will walk in that gas station and pay 6.40 a gallon (20 Oz bottle of water is a buck 128 Oz is 1 gallon) for fucking water and not bat an eye. I did some work for a company that bottles water, and got the tour. They have a line that comes in from the city water supply, it goes through a couple filters, and into the bottles, it takes 4 people to run the operation. Think about that the next time you BUY A BOTTLE OF WATER.
  16. Hmmm, just a thought, but how about you going from a dig as one of the roll racers go past at say 20 MPH, and go for a measured 1/4. I realize that it would seem to put them at an advantage, but with the low roll speed and measured distance, they are goig to be fighting their car alot more than you will Rob. I agree that I would rather dig race as well, but there just aren't many car's that will dig race on the street.
  17. I have the orange (now black primer) 80 Z28 Camaro with the 6 inch cowl hood that use to run around town I was right down the street from Tinman, but have had to do a house upgrade bigger garage ha ha. I moved out towards Northridge on 62. Lots better out here. I would fire up the Camaro in town and the cops would start driving by within 10 minutes. Out here, I test the car on 62, with expired tags and no exhaust and I draw no attention to myself at all. I ain't saying that is a good idea, but it's a hell of alot better than getting checked out every time I warm up the car.
  18. 4 of us... or maybe more as long as the douchebag with the slow assed probe don't show, it will be cool. He goes to school with my son and is STILL pissed that I beat him, and that was LAST summer.
  19. I have a drag project I will trade you. 1980 Monte Carlo, caged, tubed, and wired. Needs brake work and a motor and trannie to get it together. This is NOT a street car, no lights or any of that stuff that's required to make it street legal.
  20. Britany is trailer trash, always was, so this is no big suprise. Denise Richards..... Nude.... it's a little late for that to be interesting. Biel.... is still hot enough to net $30000 for a date, knowing you ain't gonna get none. The anorexic twins, Paris and Nicole, not hot, never were, and nicole doesn't even have the super rich thing going for her. Pam Anderson.... enough already. She's on a downward spiral to normality, and it's going FAST. I give her 1 more year before the photographers drawing straws to see which one has to take her picture and chance breaking their camera. I know 40+ women that are not looking that rough. I have to agree that she's turning into an incubator for a super STD.

    Primer.

:finger: I got primer on my 1980 Camaro, you want to make someting of it bitch?????
  22. ERRRRRR, and another thing about labor unions. They have in my opinion created this surge in unemployment, reason being that as the assembly plants have left, these press operators and other unskilled laborers have been put on the street, what did the union do for them. They fought to get them unreasonable wages, that no one else will pay that worker for the skill set he has, so he sits on unemployment after his severance package runs out. The union let him operate that press (at 32.50 an hour) all his life. So he has the skill of doing what, unskilled repetitious work. These include digging ditches (shovel goes in the dirt the same every time) and asking 'do you want fry's with that' at the drive through window. But our boy gets lucky, seems that a local fab shop bought that press and has it setup in their building, and they are looking for an operator. Our hero hears about it and goes right over, seems that they are doing the same parts even, the auto manufacture is contracting the fab shop to make a part our hero is familiar with and made before. THe fab shop owner is elated, and makes our hero a more than reasonable offer of 19.50 an hour to run his press with a good benifit package. This is where the union will fuck him the last time, with the union mentality. Our hero, with his mentality of "I ran this press, right here for the UAW for 32.50 an hour, and I WILL BE DAMNED if am going to run it for your 20 an hour, thank you and NO." This ladies and gentlemen is what a labor union will do for you. Now as far as the IUEC, and the SKILLED trade unions. I am all for them, and anyone that's not consider this, do you want your family to get on an elevator that a highly trained skilled and knowledgable individual build, installed and maintains, or one put in by Paco and the burrito rollers.
  23. Please understand that I, even though I am 100% conservative and Rebuplican, do support some unions, those being TRADE unions, like the iron workers, boilermakers (damn sure don't want scabs doing that work), pipefitters, and the like. They offer top notch training and recognition for knowledge level in their ranks and are HIGHLY skilled in their trade. But labor unions are another thing, The UAW, UTW (textile workers) and those non 'building trade' unions are nothing more than tax collectors that fight companies to pay what has become unreasonable wages for work that is not skilled labor and should be paying $12.50 an hour, like press operators, and assemblers. We all work on our cars, and I don't know anyone on this board that isn't capable of putting a tire on a car, but the guy doing it all day and one of the big 3 auto makers is getting paid 32.50 an hour, with his benifits package. How is that reasonable. As far as your comment of buy American, and buy Union, the UAW and the other labor unions have run the price of labor so out of site that manufactures are taking their assembly plants to other countries to get away from the US unions. Buy American, simple enough, that would be Honda, Mazda, Toyota, and about any other Jap car. Buy union????? All the American cars are built in other countries so they don't have to fight with the unions any more.
  24. Yep we agree 100%. If the mexicans unionize, and demand prevailing wage for the work they are doing, and not 4 bucks an hour, they sort of kill the reason that people hire them to begin with. THe AFLCIO and other unions openly admit to this, and to the fact taht a unionized worker will not scab a labor walkout. The unions are doing it to protect themselves, both in creating more dues paying members and to protect union labor from being undercut by cheap illegal immigrant labor.
