Gabe, in almost the same boat as you. I should be around 170, was around there a few years ago when I was eating good and exercising on a regular basis. But I had eaten like shit and not exercised as much as I should. I was up to a ridiculousness ~195 last summer and started dieting and exercising a little more. I was down to ~180 before winter. Between holidays and eating like shit while traveling for work I'm around 185 now.

 

My goal is to eat better and exercise regularly. I'm more concerned about being healthy than necessarily what I weigh. Whatever that makes me weigh, is what it makes me weigh. But, if i had to put a number on it, I think I should eventually be ~170 again.

 

About a summer ago or so, I was at 190, started running like 50-60 miles per week and dropped to like 165 within 3 months. i was also starving myself on like almost nothing for breakfast, half a nature valley bar for a snack, salad for lunch, half nature valley bar for later afternoon snack, then dinner i ate whatever the hell i wanted, and usually drank like a half bottle of jack. idk how i did that.

 

i agree with you, if you feel good and everything works properly, whats it matter? i feel fine at 190, but i bet i would be a little more spry at 170. 170 is closer to OTW (optimal troll weight)

I had the little pincher tool, not 100% accurate but I know it was close. And the ROM was slightly less than a 90 degree angle.

 

only poking because I know how hard it is to get that low and most people don't accurately report it.

this was me at about 8% last summer, very strict on my diet and training. took some time to go from 10% to that 8%

that and most people how list real high squat or leg press numbers dont barely go down (Ive squatted 650 in competition but cant do jack squat on a leg press machine lol)

I'm 5'9" 175lbs. I've shied away from legs a lot since college since I messed my knees up hurdling, but now I'm trying to get them back to the strength they once were. For now my goals are:

~300lb squat, ~600lb leg press, 600lb Dead, and that's all I'm really concerned with.

Yeah you're a bit bigger than me, I was about equally defined though, If I had to guess I was probably between 8-11% true body fat. What's your height and weight? Any other power numbers?

In 08 i came out of HS and BCT/AIT weight about 185. Once i returned home i started working as an EMT in Private EMS (tater toting). My job which involved alot of sitting in an ambulance ALL day plus picking up fast food for lunch constantly, made me jump to 257 at my highest in Winter 2010/2011. Since then i mobilized in August and have been in Afghan for the past few months. Im now at 220bls with a goal of 190-205. I want to get lean again with still some build. Bench 225-250, Squat 405+ and DL 405+. And get my 2 mile run back down to 13s hopefully. Just started getting serious with the gym/lifting this past week but cardio is on hold because we now cant play basketball or any other sports because one of our guys broke his ankle, and its too icey/snowey outside to run right now. (i dont do tread mills). Sorry for the book, but thats my story.

Lies, to gain one pure pound of muscle takes a shit ton of work. If you really bust ass you might gain a pound a week. You're constipated, in other words, you're full of shit bro.

I'm not even sure if someone was on an IV of steroids they could put on 15lbs of muscle in 2 months.

I don't know if it's necessarily all muscle, but all I know is I weighed 205 give or take when I started with a personal trainer, now I weigh 220 give or take.

 

My goal is to bench 225 by 3/16...was @ 195 12/16 and told my buddy i wanted to get up to 225 in 3mos. Was in monday and got 215 so im close

 

Cycling - minimum 1500 miles, really wanna hit 2k+ this year.

i am 5'8" there i was drying out for my weigh in, so i was probably 184ish.

raw i have hit

squat: 510

Bench: 435

deadlift: 585

equipped i've done

squat: 650

Bench: 600

Deadlift: 610

I started working out in October with a legit trainer (some of you know him). I have lost 46 pounds since. I feel great. My dick looks bigger. And I can snowboard again. I'll check in when I lose the next 45

 

For reference ... I was 378... I am now 332, my goal weight is 275

that would be a good deadlift goal, especially for your weight, where are you at now.

surprised you couldn't squat more even with your messed up knees if you have a deadlift past 500.

ANYWAYS, back on topic. I've taken the last couple monthes off from the gym since I'm pretty worn out from being at a physical job everyday then the thought of driving 20min to workout makes me not go. I'm trying to get back into the gym this week and start back. Starting back always sucks :( but hopefully all the muscle memory will kick in quick :)

Recovering from a back injury, still holding 185lbs pretty well. I've been doing alot of glute/ham and low back work. Feeling pretty stable again and can manage to bend over and not have my back go out.

 

In the next few weeks I look foreward to getting back into a few PL gyms.

I believe you train with kyle shafer (sp).

 

I still have a long process to go through in order to compete.

Ha, im in the same shit. Have an active job yet still somehow find motivation to hit the gym after work. However Im alot less motivated in the middle of the summer when i sweat my ass off to then go lift heavy shit and run 2 miles.

I miss the crew at Ludus but we were having difficulty making the schedule work on a regular basis. Need to find a way to get back down there at least a day or two a week.

Yes. My wife and I were down there for a few months working out with Matt and Christian but our impossible schedules made it difficult to get there on a regular basis so we quit going about a month ago.

 

Nice, Matts a good guy. I should be back down there training again here soon. Might see you around.
