  1. Holy cow! GWS and thanks for thinking of us! yeah I think not being able to pick my nose might be the biggest impact (for me) in something like that, haha. Oh wait, do you wipe lefty? hrm...
  2. Holy cow, glad you're okay!
  3. Yep. NC700X. Made for commuting, and VERY different from a "regular" bike... It redlines at 6500 rpm! It's all about low-end, usable torque. Definitely weird going from a YZF600 to it, but I'm liking it so far. I'll do up a proper thread with pictures (and without the guessing game) when I get some time... dealing with work and home stuff right now I decided my next bike would be fuel injected, and it is, at least.... I got a good deal on it, but I have a feeling that's because NC700Xs aren't in much demand and don't sell well. It doesn't appeal to most riders.
  4. Not technically a sport-tourer, but I plan to use it that way, I guess. I wanted one! But they're so new, you can't find any used ones yet, and they cost more than I wanted to spend. I like CHEAP bikes. 1. yes. 2. maybe. It's a pretty gay bike. Sorta. The top half is plastic and the bottom half has no fairings.I guess it's half-faired. Nope! To all you haters: Let me have my fun! But just for the haters, I'll give a couple of hints that are dead giveaways.... It gets almost 80 mpg and has enough storage room for my helmet. Yeah, not on a helmet lock, either.
  5. Congrats! there have been some good deals on 650s lately, on Craigslist.
  6. I would never ride a bike I couldn't afford to pay for. And I would INSTANTLY, before I even asked for an ambulance, tell the owner I'd pay for it, if I ever rode someone else's bike and dumped it
  7. Holding off on the baby stroller until the wife makes me I bought the bike and rode it home last night.... Already bumped against the rev limiter, haha. I'm liking it so far. The windshield wasn't as monstrous as it looked in the pic, so that's good... It's an aftermarket taht's larger than stock for highway riding. Should be a great commuter. VERY different from my YZF600s... I was able to turns at speed with a LOT more confidence, and the damn thing is comfortable. Should I just tell everyone, or do I get to have some fun? I'll answer yes/no questions until you guys get it, it won't be hard
  8. Buying a bike is nothing new for me, but I've never paid this much for one! It's a little bit unusual, but just might be the perfect bike for me........ More details to come if & when I find out whether or not the sale actually happens... no reason to believe that it won't... I've been e-mailing with him for several days, and I ended up coming up to HIS price, even though I tried like hell to get him lower.... Some people just drive a hard bargain. The bike is already cheaper than it should be, so it's still a steal. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm dying to be riding again!
  9. I thought that guy was trolling with all the racist statements. Was he serious? Anyway, this thread is full of generalizations.... Stop saying "Muslims" and and start saying "radical Muslims." There's a huuuuuuuuuge difference.
  10. Did he ever tear it apart? This must be different bike, if so: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/5130451883.html
  11. Windex and paper towels for the bugs on the front. Windex & paper towels for garage dust on the rest. Laziness!
  12. I renewed my membership here for another year. yay.
  13. awesome looking bike, GLWS!
  14. I have the chance to buy a Ninja 300 for $3200... I'm seriously considering it
  15. Got our last from a breeder, and our current from http://www.hmdd.org/ "Hand-me-down Dobermans"
  16. We had it in the Navy, too. I think most people that have a clue about really wrenching on their bike and the knowledge and desire to do so already HAVE a place/means to do it. HOw else do you learn, except in a place like this, and with motors and women and other such things, learning is expensive
  17. Was up until 2:30 in the morning with the wife last night, watching episodes of Homeland. That show is gooood. Plus I like Claire Danes. Every time one episode ended, we'd be like... "oKAY, just ONE more." Like 5 times.
  18. If I buy a bike, I'll probably jump on em
  19. Sounds like a great idea. But I bet insurance is a b*tch
  20. I paid 1200 for my first blast and sold it for 1700, or something like that. I'd do that again
  21. You're not driving the right Miatas Sorry, my stepdad used to have a custom supercharged one. Even if you weren't ATGATT, you still practiced risk management... You knew you wouldn't be on the highway, or riding at 100mph, so it's not like you stripped all the skin off a leg or an arm, or had anything amputated. So look on the bright side, at least it was low speed
