oldschoolsdime92
stole this idea from another forum. Enjoyed reading it. Thought I would make one here... If you had 50k, How would you invest it?
vf1000ride
I would start with getting both vehicles paid off. The remaining money would be dropped on my mortgage as I want to be out of debt. My current paycheck retirement deductions can then be increased as my monthly debt payments decrease. DAC
Hard to find return in this market for a lump sum that gets dropped on you suddenly. Probably in a short duration bond fund and some high dividend stocks with trailing stops.
snot
Use as a down payment for a house with a bigger garage.

TRMN8TR
I'd spend $10K remodeling my rental house so I can sell it for top dollar, then sell. Then put the ~$60-65k into another house. Fix it up and sell it. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
Steve Butters
Pay off my student loans.. I still owe like 47k on them

Josh1234
I'm boring, I'd probably just pay off me & the wife's car, and then put the rest toward the mortgage.
Bad324
As a hefty down payment on a 2015 Z06
Gixxus Christ!
Pay off the subaru and put the rest on the mortgage...maybe save like $2k for a little vacation.

Except that would only kill 60% or so of my debt. It would save me a ton in interest above the $50k capital.
jbot
2 chicks at the same time. So, my wife and daughter would find a way to spend it all somehow.
Connie14
Wait for market correction, then invest in Vanguard index funds.
dustinsn3485
Buy some more property to rent out. Rental income seems to have pretty good returns.

turnone
Hard to hold and wait for a market correction but I agree a good idea. I paid off debt first to guarantee a return. Trick is not to obtain new debt just cause you can. Like bigger house, err I mean bigger garage and 911 which is what keeps me up at night. Not really but it does cross my mind daily. Tpoppa
I'm not sure I could sit on the sidelines and wait for a market correction. Some experts think a correction is imminent, some don't. You could lose years worth of returns trying to time a correction. My mix is less aggressive now than it's been for the last few years. Now I like natural gas, a couple indexes, and a sector than has worked out pretty well.

Bakemono
Id use some of it to pay off my debt and use whats left as a down payment on a house. 40K would make for a nice little down payment.
zx3vfr
Since the original post was about investing. I'd buy 60% silver and 40% gold and just hide it away with the rest of my silver and gold
