durk
I changed the oil, flushed the clutch, cleaned and lubed the chain. Now if I could get the weather to cooperate with me and get some free time to ride again things would be great.

motocat12
Picked the 6 wafer lock on my new spare gas tank with a windshield wiper blade and a scrap of aluminum and pulled the cylinder to re-key it to match my current key.

Pauly
Just about finished with this project. Renthal Street bars, Rhinomoto bar ends and a CRG Blindspot to keep me legal. Ripped out the HID ballast that the previous owner left behind. Something had been rattling around the last time I rode it. I saw the glue let go from his install, so no need to keep that annoying modification. I also tossed on the OEM screen (thanks, @Tonik) to see if it keeps my helmet in cleaner air. If not, I may cut it down a little. I need soft luggage for the Gap trip, but all other systems are go for launch. Yes, I know the chain is rusty. I will wipe it down some other time. Gixxus Christ!
Oil change on the gsxs1000. 3600 miles already. Rotella with wix filter. Oil was a bit darker than i expected coming out, but there was minimal black residue on the drain plug magnet. Also cleaned and lubed chain. There is already rust on it, which angers me...must be from riding to work in the rain the other week. Have been cleaning and lubing chain every other tank of gas (300 miles or so), thought that would have been often enough. Really hosed it down with the KLR this time, maybe I'll go to lube every tank, clean and lube every other.
Pauly
Changed the oil and filter on the Yamaha. Inspected the stoppy bits, the grippy bits and the toothy bits. All bits in good condition and ready for the mountains.

2talltim
@ridein your inspiration was still thriving today when it was to wet to ride. The old girl got a complete detail job with two coats of wax. Also found a broken exhaust clamp. Not sure how long thats been broken. B-Mac
Just returned from the Gap. I got a fast Thursday 110 mile solo balls out ride on a dragon loop route after arriving at Iron Horse around noon. Friday spent the 203 mile day with the wife on back exploring back road conditions, including light gravel. I spent all 220 mile day Saturday alone blasting forest service roads at elevation and down at creek level with a few asphalt ribbons connecting the dirty stuff. All is well in the area. 533 Miles Total. I give it a 4 star weekend only because I could not find another rider to do dirt with me. then again, I do ride faster when alone. 😎 Tires: Mitas E07 Dakars 2019 Dragon Front 1 (1) by 2019 Dragon Front 1 (2) by Stromtroopers 2019 1 by Stromtroopers 2019 2 by B Edited May 20, 2019 by B-Mac

2talltim
Basic maintenance. Apparently the previous owner of the Z didnt know what that all entails. Inside the front sprocket cover looks like its never been off. Before. After.

2talltim
F#@k You Yamaha! And your idiot engineers. 40 plus min later i can finally get to the oil filter. Only after you remove the pin from the brake pedal to make room to take the header pipe and muffler off. Only to remove the fake chrome cover to be able to get to the bolts(with 2 extensions and a swivel)that hold the chorme plate on that hides the actuall oil filter cover. Taking care to wiggle thr actual oil filer housing cover off as to not damage the orings. Watching oil runall over the wire harness and brake line because there is no way to stop it. Only then can you pull the oil filter cartridge out to put a new on in. And you have to keep tabs on where each bolt goes since every fucking one of them is a different size.
