It gets on your tires, then your tires fling it forward, through the foglight openings in the bumper. The car then drives through the oil which is suspended in the air temporarily.

Its science.

ive had this happen twice... once on mine once on someones elses the oil never leaves the bottom on the car.. doesnt get on the front tires all that much...oil filter is between the tires..it just makes a mess under the car and on the engine bay

wnaplay, i understand you made no passes but why not get there at 10am when it opened i dont know to many people that would come to a track rental at 330 when it ends at 5. also everyone that was there got to stay for ree from 5-11 to get more passes in im talking 13 hours of running and everyone is mad because 1.5 hours of downtime...

He was joking. He is in the Hospital.

I'm going to take the DSM guys side on this one.

Statement says a fee will be assessed by the track for cleanup, and will be determined by the track. He went to the tower (based on what he says), and they said no fee.

Now if the wording specifically stated "You will be charged for loss of track time due to clean up, and price will be based on XXX". Instead it looks to me like a price has been arbitrarily pulled out of the air because someone is pissed off...

If I was in the person who oiled down the track, and I was in this situation I would say go fucking screw.

With that being said, I think this should be handled like MEN. Stop being children and arguing on the internet. Pick up the phone, or go meet in person and talk about this.

In the future be specific about fees etc.

I have spoken.

I just spent all this time and effort getting the car together and I was unable to leave the orphanage I volunteer at and get there until just before it all went down. All I wanted was just one pass. It was the only time I was going to have thi year to make one. I leave this week to a small village in kenya for more volunteer work.

Good god this is STILL going? I think that Hwilli is pretty close in his summary of this prison gang rape mess we now have.

BUT this has now turned into a who has the giant e-porno dick yelling on line match.

Anthony was upset and might have over reacted but when you organize an event and now have 20 people looking at you like WTF he has the right to be mad. He is also acting on the info that was given to him by the Trails for their conditions on the track rental.

So he is just going on what he was told about their oil down deal.

Now the dude with the DSM went a bit far with some of his very personal attacks and accusations. Some of that shit flat not needed and very poor taste. If he would have taken the high road and maybe PM'd Anthony we would not have this fucking wast of bandwidth.

In the end I could really give two fucks and a chicken I had fun.

We already worked something out last night  How are you fed up after saying it was cool?????? Please try pming me again (without getting a response) or objecting to something I say before posting stuff like this.

And everyone else, opinions are like assholes... Thanks for repeating what has been said 60 times in 6 pages. Some hate him some love him. Some say pay $1000, some say pay $0. Some say its a mcsteak, some say hes an evil villian that tried to kill us all... we get it.

Just a quick question, if the lane had been oiled down that bad, why didnt someone just tell them to run one lane till they got the oil cleaned up? I will say that breaks do happen and there is nothing we can do about it. Its racing and its always goin to happen. I have been to track events where I got one pass in and someone else broke and it ended the day of racing. Danny said he went to the tower and they told him not to worry about so I really dont think there is any need to jump all over him about it.

you cant have runs going during a clean up. that is putting clean up crew at a major risk

Are you really serious? I would say that is a little extreme coming from an experienced racer such as yourself.

I am going to defend the driver (not just because I am a DSM person). I am going to separate out the "who should pay for a cleanup portion" out of my statement. My problem with all these posts is mostly about the fact that some people are just plain pissed that a car broke and oiled down the track.

I will give everyone the benefit of the doubt and ASSUME that the beef here has nothing to do with the fact that the driver who put the oil down is not a regular member of the CR circle. With that said, I think the organizers of the events should think about outlining specific regulations as to how they want the event ran to prevent this from happening. For example, if you want to reduce the possibility of an oil down then make a stipulation that cars faster than 11.0 can't run, prevent a DSM from running if it is the belief that a DSM is a volatile platform and the odds of breakage are greater, change the rules to tech cars that are known to go that fast and require them to run a diaper pan ETC. Faster cars break more often. DSMs probably break more often.

I know that most will think these rules would be silly but that is what you guys are basically implying. To expect a someone driving a high strung car that is spinning 10k rpm to check his oil pressure gauge down the middle of a 140+ pass is silly. It just doesn't work that way. If the oil filter truely was the failure point then I guarantee you that oil wasn't splattering all over his windshield during the pass. The oil filter issue is a somewhat common issue with the DSM filter housing and I have personally seen way to many of them unfortunately.

I am not trying to give anyone a hard time. We have ran our car at numerous CR rentals over the past years and have always enjoyed the event. I do not know Anthony and the other too well but everyone has always been beyond cordial and friendly to us. I understand the frustration of those that experienced the down time as I've been on that end of things plenty of times. It is unforunately part of the territory.

I'm neutral, but these posts are really getting annoying to me. I'm not typing a novel, here are the rules

1. Watch your fucking gauges

2. If a gauge of importance like fuel or oil drop significantly STOP YOUR CAR!!!!

3. Get out and check for damage

4. Clean up is a puddle instead of a stream

Blow off oil is one thing. a small leak "happens". He saw pressure loss and kept going which is a huge no no. And 14 second cars break, where did this 11 second b.s come from:confused:

In his defense, he may not have known to stop. Not everyones first instinct is to stop there car (which is why I was trying to work with him via pm). Hopefully everyone read this thread and knows in the future to stop their car.

anthony's post

You're right, and the management told me if was fucked up that a guy would keep running a car leaking fluids and I was in the right for asking you to cover the costs of the rental during the shutdown YOU caused by negligence.

They weren't gonna charge you, but said I had a purpose in asking for reimbursement. You need to start figuring your stories a bit better, you've already been busted twice in this thread for being wrong when you swore you were right.

Again, thanks for fucking up the end of our event. Go away

this more than explains my point what i did was the right thing went to trails tech and asked what do i need to do, they said nothing like they told you so i went home, maybe you should change your rules anthony and put if a car oils down they owe columbus racing and members a back fee for waiting, i already broke it down it would 4 bucks a person for those who waited, is this fight really worth 4 bucks and our time...i dont think so, v8 beast what do you mean? im just stating that we are trying to work it out, i know you have a plan but nothing is final yet, correct?

I know this. but, im not the one stating it. if he is black listed from our events then so be it. that is not for me to decide. im voting yes for it just do to the way he was acting in this thread.

and you are right, about wording for the event. im sure the next one will be fixed.

evidently you have never driven a car that trapped 140+ and is still skating all the way down the track you dont have time to look at all your gauges... i watch my af and rpms the most i usually dont even watch the af just the tach, when i saw the oil drop i shut it down, ask any racer that goes 9's and traps 140+ if they watch all there gauges all the way down the track they say hell no im steering and watching my tach and the track...comon you cant seriously tell me you watch all your gauges down the track if you do your car is a caddilac down the track... you have 9-10 sec's to do 1 million things..

Dan, this wouldn't have gotten this far had you manned up when you knew I was looking for you and discussed this with me in person.

I was going off of one story, the one where Trails told me you knew you were spraying oil and kept going. Maybe had you been up front with me instead of "avoiding me because I was gonna ask you for money", then we wouldn't be where we are now.
